Beginners Expermenter’s Page

This page contains a resources for a series of progressively challenging lessons and experiments to assist new users in understanding and use of the 16 Bit Micro Experimenter as well as Microchip tools set and installation. The theme throughout the series is to turn on an LED and then blink, pulse width modulate it for brightness control, using a number of PIC24F resources from I/O port, to TIMER 1, to TIMER1 interrupt, CCP and ADC. They are structured around four series:

A. Quick Tour of Microchip Tools and Installation —Download tour

B. First Experiments Part 1 —Download lesson plan

1. “Hello Word” –turning on a LED –- Download software

2. ” Blink” – blinking an LED using software delay function — Download software

C. First Experiments Part 2 —Download lesson plan

3. ” Using Timers” — use PIC24F timer to blink LED — Download Software

4. “Using Interrupts: — use TIMER1 interrupt to blink LED — Download Software

D. First Experiments Part 3 — Download lesson plan

5. ” Using CCP Module and PPS” — use CCP to Pulse Width Modulate LED — Download Software
